Recognition of Prior Qualifications
Applicants with prior relevant higher education may request evaluation under the University's Credit Transfer Scheme. Recognition is determined via academic review of coursework, credits, and verified learning outcomes from Matriculation onwards.
For advanced or doctoral-level transfers, required documentation includes Credit Certificates, Transfer Confirmations, Course Syllabi, Progress Reports, and endorsement from a senior Professor.

1. PURPOSE
This document sets out the academic, documentation, credit-transfer, thesis, supervision, and scholarship requirements applicable to students applying for or undertaking the Graduate, Post Graduate, Doctoral and Post Doctoral Programs associated with UnivMentors.
The purpose of this policy is to establish a clear and transparent framework for:
Admission and academic documentation;
Academic evaluation;
Credit Transfer Scheme;
Recognition of previously completed academic work;
MBA progression;
Doctoral program selection;
Research and thesis requirements;
Academic supervision and mentoring;
University approval procedures; and
Applicable scholarship and fee arrangements.
All academic decisions remain subject to the applicable rules, regulations, academic standards, and approval procedures of University.
2. MASTERS PROGRAM – ADMISSION & DOCUMENTATION
Applicants seeking admission to the Masters Program are required to submit complete and accurate academic and personal documentation.
2.1 Required Application Documents
The following documents are normally required:
Completed Application Form of University;
Curriculum Vitae (CV);
Recent passport-size colour photograph;
Colour scanned copy of Passport or National Identity Card;
Copies of educational certificates and academic documents;
Academic transcripts/marks sheets, where applicable; and
Any additional documents requested for academic verification.
Applicants must ensure that all documents submitted are genuine, complete, legible, and accurate.
3. CREDIT TRANSFER SCHEME
Applicants who have previously completed relevant academic education may request consideration under the University's Credit Transfer Scheme, subject to academic evaluation and approval.
Credit transfer is not automatic and is subject to review of the applicant's academic credentials, courses, credits, learning outcomes, and supporting documentation.
3.1 Academic Credentials Required
For academic evaluation under the Credit Transfer Scheme, the applicant may be required to provide copies of complete academic credentials beginning from Matriculation through the highest completed qualification, including:
Matriculation/Secondary School Certificate;
Intermediate/Higher Secondary Certificate, where applicable;
Bachelor's degree and transcripts;
Master's degree/MBA and transcripts;
Other relevant academic qualifications;
Certificates;
Transcripts/marks sheets; and
Supporting academic records relating to previously completed study.
The University or its authorised representatives may request additional documentation where necessary for verification and academic assessment.
4. ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTATION FOR CREDIT TRANSFER
Where an applicant seeks recognition of previously completed doctoral-level or other advanced academic work, the following documents may be requested where applicable:
Credit Certificate;
Credit Transfer Confirmation;
Course Descriptions and Syllabi;
Academic Reports;
Research or academic progress records;
Confirmation or endorsement from the relevant Professor/Mentor/Supervisor; and
Any other documentation required for academic evaluation.
Where applicable, academic records should demonstrate the nature, duration, level, and extent of the academic work completed.
5. ACADEMIC EVALUATION
All submitted academic credentials and credit-transfer documentation are subject to academic evaluation.
The evaluation may consider:
Previous qualifications;
Academic level;
Credit hours or equivalent academic credits;
Course content;
Course descriptions;
Syllabi;
Learning outcomes;
Duration of study;
Academic reports;
Research work;
Supervision arrangements; and
Other relevant academic evidence.
The purpose of the evaluation is to determine the extent to which previously completed academic work may be recognised under the applicable University requirements.
Submission of documents does not by itself constitute approval of credit transfer.
Final recognition and academic decisions remain subject to the applicable University procedures and competent academic authority.
6. MBA PROGRAM COMPLETION
Students admitted to the MBA Program are required to fulfil the academic requirements prescribed for the program, taking into account any credits formally approved for transfer.
Students must comply with the University's academic requirements relating to:
Coursework;
Academic assignments;
Research activities;
Examinations or assessments, where applicable;
Research/project requirements; and
Any other requirements prescribed by the University.
7. PROGRESSION TO DOCTORAL STUDIES
Following completion of the MBA or another qualifying Master's-level program, an eligible candidate may seek consideration for a doctoral program.
Depending upon academic background, qualifications, professional experience, research interests, and University approval, the candidate may choose from programs such as:

PhD in Business Administration
PhD in Management
PhD in Social Sciences
The final eligibility and admission decision for the selected doctoral program shall be subject to the applicable University requirements and academic approval.
8. DOCTORAL RESEARCH & THESIS REQUIREMENT
An important component of doctoral-level study is the completion of an appropriate research thesis/dissertation, in accordance with the requirements applicable to the selected doctoral program.
8.1 Selection of Research Topic
The candidate may propose a research topic of their choice, provided that the proposed research is:
Relevant to the selected doctoral field;
Academically appropriate;
Researchable;
Consistent with the University's academic requirements; and
Suitable for doctoral-level research.
The candidate should submit a proposed research title/topic together with any information required under the University's research guidelines.
8.2 University Approval
The proposed thesis/research topic is subject to academic review and approval by University.
UnivMentors may receive the proposed topic and forward it to the University for academic consideration.
A proposed research topic is not considered approved until formal academic approval has been obtained from the appropriate University authority.
The University may:
Approve the proposed topic;
Request modification;
Request clarification;
Require a revised research proposal; or
Recommend an alternative research direction.
9. PHD MENTOR / PROFESSOR / SUPERVISOR
The candidate shall undertake doctoral research under the academic guidance of an appropriately qualified PhD Mentor/Professor/Supervisor, in accordance with University requirements.
The Mentor/Professor/Supervisor is expected to provide appropriate academic guidance relating to:
Research methodology;
Literature review;
Research design;
Academic writing;
Data collection and analysis, where applicable;
Thesis structure;
Academic standards;
Research progress; and
Preparation of the final thesis/dissertation.
The appointment or recognition of a supervisor/mentor is subject to the applicable academic requirements and approval procedures of the University.
10. THESIS PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION
The candidate is required to prepare the thesis in accordance with the University's applicable academic and research guidelines.
The thesis should meet the standards applicable to the selected doctoral program, including requirements relating to:
Research originality;
Academic methodology;
Scholarly literature;
Research questions/objectives;
Analysis and discussion;
Conclusions and recommendations;
Academic referencing;
Research ethics, where applicable;
Formatting and presentation; and
Other University requirements.
The completed thesis must be submitted through the prescribed process for academic evaluation.
11. ACADEMIC INTEGRITY
All students are required to maintain the highest standards of academic integrity.
Students must ensure that
All submitted academic documents are authentic;
All academic work is their own or appropriately acknowledged;
Sources are properly cited;
Plagiarism is avoided;
Research data and findings are accurately represented; and
No false, misleading, or fabricated information is submitted.
Any concern regarding document authenticity or academic integrity may be referred to the appropriate academic authority for review.
12. DOCUMENT VERIFICATION
All academic documents submitted by a student may be subject to verification.
Verification may include examination of:
Original documents;
Certified copies;
Institutional records;
Transcripts;
Certificates;
Credit records;
Academic reports;
Course syllabi; and
Confirmation from issuing institutions or academic authorities.
Students may be requested to provide additional information or documentation where necessary.
13. SCHOLARSHIP POLICY
Scholarships may be granted in accordance with applicable scholarship arrangements and specific offers made to individual candidates.
Scholarship awards are subject to the terms stated in the student's scholarship or admission documentation.
13.1 Scholarship 40%
In exceptional circumstances, an up to 40% scholarship may be offered to an eligible candidate as a special consideration.

The 40% scholarship represents the highest scholarship percentage offered under this special arrangement.
A scholarship is personal to the candidate to whom it is granted and may not automatically be transferred to another person or program.
14. PAYMENT OF FEES
Students are required to comply with the payment arrangements communicated in their individual admission, scholarship, or enrolment documentation.
Where a special fee arrangement or scholarship has been granted, the student must comply with the applicable payment schedule.
Failure to comply with the applicable payment requirements may affect registration, enrolment, academic processing, or continuation of services, subject to the relevant terms and University regulations.
15. ADMISSION, CREDIT TRANSFER & FINAL ACADEMIC APPROVAL
Students should distinguish between the following stages:
Stage 1 – Application
Submission of the required application and supporting documentation.
Stage 2 – Document Verification
Review and verification of submitted academic and personal credentials.
Stage 3 – Academic Evaluation
Assessment of qualifications, academic credits, previous study, and eligibility.
Stage 4 – Credit Transfer Assessment
Determination of whether and to what extent previous academic work may be recognised.
Stage 5 – Admission
Issuance of the applicable admission documentation following the required approval process.
Stage 6 – Academic Progression
Completion of remaining academic and/or research requirements.
Stage 7 – Thesis/Dissertation
Preparation and submission of the required research work under appropriate academic supervision.
Stage 8 – Final Academic Assessment
Evaluation and approval in accordance with applicable University requirements.
16. IMPORTANT NOTICE
This policy provides general academic guidance for students. Individual students may be subject to additional requirements depending on their academic background, selected program, credit-transfer request, research field, and applicable University regulations.
Credit transfer, recognition of prior learning, research-topic approval, thesis approval, academic progression, and final award of a qualification are subject to the applicable academic rules and approval of the competent authority of University.
No statement in this policy should be interpreted as guaranteeing credit transfer, admission to a particular doctoral program, approval of a research topic, or award of a degree before the relevant academic procedures have been completed.
17. STUDENT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
By proceeding with the application and academic process, the student acknowledges that they have read and understood the requirements outlined in this policy and agree to provide accurate documentation and comply with the applicable academic requirements.
